The Island’s biggest youth organisation is scouting around for a new leader.
The Scouts need a new Island Commissioner and hope to find a business leader willing to do more than bob-a-job for them.
They want to find a man or a woman with enough vision and enthusiasm to lead all 790 young Jersey scouts and represent them both on and off the Island.
The Scout Association’s James Le Feuvre said: “Scouting makes a very positive impact on our community, preparing young people to be active citizens in the future. The Island Commissioner’s role is really important and provides the opportunity to lead our Association forward as we expand and ensure we can offer Scouting to every young person who wants to be involved.
“With so many commercial firms operating in Jersey, there should be a good selection of excellent business leaders; we are looking for someone who wants to make a difference to their island, and to young people, and someone who also wants to have fun while doing it.
“As a previous Island Commissioner, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the role and found it very rewarding to have been able to share my knowledge and experience with our volunteers.”
If you are interested in this volunteer role you have until 10 February to get in touch with the troops.
