Arrest after La Fregate fight leaves man with head injuries

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged fight that left another in need of A&E treatment for head and face injuries over the weekend.

Police are now appealing for more information on the reported "grave and criminal assault", which they say took place on Saturday (12 June) around 22:15 to 22:30 around the steps near La Fregate.

Officers explained in a statement: “Two men who were not known to eachother were involved in a fight where one has sustained some injury to his head and face and subsequently went to A&E for treatment

“Police arrested a 25-year-old man at the scene and he has since been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue. 

“Anyone who may have seen this or who has any information is asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.”
