Police working on a “cold case review” of historic sexual assaults have arrested a 45-year-old man who is due to be charged in court today.
Officers who have been reviewing a number of historic undetected sexual assaults arrested Joao Pedro Santos on Friday morning, and he will be charged today with one count of attempted rape and two counts of indecent assault.
The police say that the charges related to an incident that took place in February 1998.
The man is currently in police custody.
