To add to the busy atmosphere from the Fête de St Hélier, the much-loved Norman Market returns to the Royal Square for five days.
From 18 July until 22 July, the traders will be serving their usual French fancies from 09:00 to 18:00 - except on Monday 22 when they will close at 17:00.
Visitors can expect stalls selling sausage sandwiches, crêpes, cheese, cider and fruits.
As well as the delicious produce, the Norman Market will also be joined by two musical performances from 'La Mafia Normande', a 'gypsy swing' band from Normandy.
Budding local photographers have the chance to showcase their talents in a photography competition launched by the States Assembly.
Following the theme 'Local Icons', islanders are being asked to capture what it means to them to live in Jersey and what is most important to them about the island. Inspirations can be as varied as historic buildings, landmarks or people.
Entrants will be permitted to enter one of three categories:
Winning entries in each category will receive a £100 voucher and runners-up a £25 voucher.
The winning photographs will then be displayed in the Royal Square during Democracy Week - Monday 23 September - Friday 27 September - and displayed in the States Assembly for a whole year thereafter.
To enter, the digital photo must be sent to statesgreffe@gov.je by 17:00 on Friday 6 September along with other personal details: name, age, parental permission (entrants under 18 only), title of photo and any social media that may be tagged by the States Assembly.
The renowned French choreographer, Jérôme Bel, whose contemporary works have shaped the European dance world significantly since the 1990s, has created a personal account of a life in dance.
The work, which is being premiered in English, focuses on “portraits” of dancers, working across classical ballet, modern dance and ancient dance forms.
Jérôme Bel has been created in collaboration with and will be performed by Terry O’Connor, originally from Jersey, and co-founder of one of the world’s most celebrated experimental contemporary theatre groups, Forced Entertainment.
Performances will start at 19:30 on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July in an intimate studio at ArtHouse Jersey's Grêve de Lecq Barracks.
Tickets are £18 (plus a booking fee) and can be booked via Eventbrite.
