The Art of Wine

Mind Jersey, in collaboration with Dunell's and Midnight, is set to host a charity event that combines art, wine, and food.

Attendees will taste different wines and match them with artworks, followed by a three-course dinner that complements the drinks.

The artworks will be auctioned to raise funds for Mind Jersey, and Mind Jersey musicians will also deliver a live performance.

Dr Patricia Tumelty, Executive Director Mind Jersey, urged people to attend the evening, explaining: “Emotional and financial security are the bedrocks of good mental health – both have been shattered by the pandemic and inflation – as we go into winter months, please help Mind Jersey help more people to reconnect with hope and save lives."

Tickets are £130 per person and the event will be held at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on Thursday 19 October from 18:30 until 22:30.

You can contact Jenny via jennyswan209@gmail.com or 07797759253 to book your place.

Dust off your records

This Saturday, ArtHouse Jersey will host SoundClash, described by the organisers as "a musical performance with a difference" and a "must for all vinyl heads, musos, sound artists and people with an interest in how we create narratives, work collectively, improvise or create situations to spark creativity and expression".

At SoundClash, five individuals bring 25 vinyl records to be played consecutively and in response to each other for a set duration.

Each person can bring only 25 vinyl records in any format, and the concept is that each musical piece should either lead to the next, creating a new storyline, or clash if the next player cannot follow suit.

The aim is to create a dynamic musical story, with each participant presenting a round by bringing a record that aligns with a predetermined theme.

The event is free to enter and will run between 13:00 and 18:00 this Saturday 30 September.

Audiences can drop in and out or stay for the whole session, where refreshments will be available. More information can be found HERE.
