A local choir is looking to inject a little music into lonely and romantic hearts alike this Valentine’s Day, with a Zoom singalong in aid of islanders needing help with their mental health.
Starting at 18:00 tomorrow, Aureole's ‘Love Song Singalong’ will invite local care homes and anyone feeling alone this Valentine’s Day to warm up their vocal cords and belt out some tender tunes.
The choir was founded by Nicki and John Kennedy during lockdown as a way of bringing islanders together through music, while also helping good causes.
The group has since racked up 160 members, with around 40 to 50 engaging with every project they do, and raising more than £4,000 for local Jersey charities in the process.
Aureole will not be charging for Valentine's Day event, but added that they hope people will donate to their JustGiving page, which has a target of raising £1,500 for Mind Jersey by Easter.

In return, the charity has also offered to give members of Aureole training in Mental Health First Aid.
To add to the fundraising effort, the group will also be working with children at the Jersey Academy of Music to create a new version of Bill Withers’ ‘Lean on Me’, and have plans for a Vivaldi Gloria ‘Come and Sing’ event in March.
