Bad news folks – if the Walking Dead rise up and start munching on our brains, the States have no strategy in place to deal with them.
The Bailiwick Express regrets that it cannot take credit for the Freedom of Information Law request that led to the States revealing that there is no plan in place for a zombie attack.
But it is our solemn duty to inform readers that the threat of a zombie attack is one that ministers apparently do not take seriously. Or perhaps they’re in on it. Who knows?
In response to a request submitted within days of the transparency law coming into force, the States said: “The States of Jersey do not hold any specific plan with relation to preparing for, or dealing with, a zombie attack.
“The States of Jersey Emergency Measures Plan provides overarching guidance for Emergency Services and other responders in the event of a major incident affecting the Island.”
The request specifically asked for the response plans for a localized and a global zombie outbreak.
