Beaulieu school collects 'smalls' for all

Saturday 11 February 2017

This January staff at Beaulieu School have been doing their bit by supporting the charity 'Smalls for All'.

Beaulieu collected over 800 pieces of new underwear to donate to the Scottish based charity that works to collect and distribute pants and bras to women and children in Africa.

When visiting the poorer areas of Africa, Maria MacNamara, founder of the Smalls for All charity, discovered that women and children often have very limited items of clothes, including underwear, with women often owning only one pair of pants. The charity helps those living in orphanages, slums, camps and schools, as well as providing underwear to hospitals to help those suffering.

Led by Sixth Form Pastoral Manager, Mrs Dani Perrier, Beaulieu collected 552 bras and 270 pairs of pants to send to the poorest parts of Africa.

Mrs Perrier said: "I am absolutely delighted with the way my colleagues supported this wonderful charity and I'm thrilled to be able to contribute such a large number of items to this great cause."
