A father and son shared a very special birthday this weekend at Durrell.
Yesterday, both Badongo, the silverback gorilla, and his two-year-old son Indigo, celebrated their birthdays.
Badongo is 15, and Indigo – who will be the official mascot for the 2015 NatWest Island Games – turned two on the same day.
The pair shared some presents on the day, and got plenty of attention from well-wishers.
Badongo has been at the zoo since July 2011, when he arrived from France. He was brought in to replace Ya Kwanza, who had not bred for eight years.
