Bohemia Chef Michael Cruickshank has reached the National Finals of the Roux Scholarship 2017.

Following the regional final held at the University of West London, Ealing, Chef Cruickshank was one of six chefs to be shortlisted to compete in the finals.

Speaking about the quality of the competition, Judge Alain Roux said: “We had to make some difficult choices but we’ve got six strong chefs in the final which will make for an exciting competition.”

The final will be held on 10 April 2017 at Westminster Kingsway College, London and the 2017 Roux Scholar will be declared at The Langham, London later that evening. 

The final panel of judges will be headed by Three-Michelin starred chef, Anne-Sophie Pic  along with joint chairmen Alain and Michel Jr. They will be joined by James Martin, David Nicholls, Brian Turner, head scholar Andrew Fairlie as well as previous winners Simon Hulstone, Sat Bains and André Garrett.

For the final, the recipe and ingredients will be a given to the finalists just 30 minutes before the start of the competition. They will create a main dish, either classic or modern, and will be given three hours to prepare and present it to the judges.
