Mums aim to keep prams germ-free with unique new business

Tuesday 20 August 2024

A unique new business dedicated to ensuring children's prams and buggies are germ-free has been launched in Jersey by two new mums.

Former dental nurse Yasmin Takacs and estate agent Arabella Sutton spotted a gap in the market for their new business when they recently became mothers.

Pram Parlour Jersey offers cleaning services for prams and car seats, aiming to reduce germs and save time for new parents already dealing with so many responsibilities.

Yasmin and Arabella explained that "pushchairs and buggies harvest vast amounts of germs and it is much healthier for children if these items are professionally cleaned".

They said that they hope to provide "an easy and quick solution to help keep baby and child items clean and hygienic".

The duo explained: "We will operate the fastest turn around we can and use safe products so that the children's every day items will remain germ free and give the equipment a new lease of life."

Yasmin and Arabella came up with the idea for their new business at the start of this year.

They said: "Everything has been relatively straight forward; it's just taken a while due to the babies being little and needing all of our care and attention.

"We didn't want to launch until we got to a point in time where we could successfully run this new venture."

The pair shared how delighted they are when telling people about Pram Parlour Jersey "and watching their reactions as everyone seems to agree that there is a gap in the market".

The mums added: "We are already being approached to clean other things such as wheelchairs and luggage."
