Boy suffers broken nose in skatepark assault

Wednesday 13 September 2017

A 14-year-old-boy had his nose broken when he got into a fight with another boy at the harbour skatepark over the weekend.

The Police believe that up to eight other boys witnessed the assault, and perhaps even punched and kicked the boy while he was on the floor.

They believe the incident took place at the skate park at around 12:00 on 10 September. The injured boy, who suffered bruising as well as a broken nose, has blonde hair and is approximatively 5'4. He was wearing black coloured t-shirt, jeans and Vans at the time of the incident. The other boy is about 5'0 and described as having olive skin and a chubby build. He was riding a custom made scooter with a silver bar and a gold “deck” with MFX written on the bottom.

A BMX rider helped the boy and pulled him out of the fight. The teenage boy was then taken to the hospital and discharged the same day.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 612612 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
