A new night of music for those aged 16 and under will be staged later this month.

Teen sensations Bars and Melody will be the main act at Teenage Rocks - which will be held on Saturday 21 March between 1 pm and 5:30 pm at Mimosa.

The duo came third in the 2014 talent competition and their single ‘Hopeful’ later peaked at Number 4 in the UK Singes Charts. They will be supported by a strong set of local acts, including DJ Melissa Marshall, Any Given Sunday, Monty Taft, Sara Strudwick and Charlie Norton, PJ Ruderham, Max Feighan, Jessie Byatt and Morgan Gregory.

This event is raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey Appeal and sponsored by Airtel-Vodafone. Promoter The Happy Events Group will be running a ‘like and share’ competition to win tickets to meet the band.

Caity Hutchison, Marketing Executive at Airtel-Vodafone said, "It’s great to see Aaron and the team from The Happy Events Group committed to providing something fresh for the Island’s teenagers, at the same time as raising awareness for this great local charity. It was a really easy decision for us to get involved."

Aaron Labey, Director at The Happy Events Group said: "The charity is very close to my heart, and by combining the popularity of Britain’s Got Talent finalists Bars and Melody, I’m sure we can create a great event for local teenagers in a fun but safe environment as well as raising lots of money. I’m very grateful for the support of Airtel-Vodafone in promoting the event as well as taking an active role in encouraging their staff and customers to fundraise for the Jersey Appeal."

Tickets are available at www.happyevents.je or Airtel-Vodafone in Queen Street.
