Police have launched a witness appeal after a man was allegedly pushed down the stairs on the No.1 bus at around 22:45 last Saturday, causing him to injure his ribs.
The incident happened as the bus was in the area of Le Hocq whilst heading into town.
Following the incident, the suspect is said to have attempted to continue the assault outside the bus. However, a number of women who were on the bus came to the aid of the victim, preventing the situation from escalating.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this incident, particularly the women who helped the victim.

Police officers are also looking for information in relation to a separate incident which took place in Parade Park on Friday 11 May around 21:30.
A man on a mobility scooter is said to have assaulted a woman as she was trying to prevent his scooter moving. The woman initially thought the scooter was out of control as the man was moving his scooter erratically backwards and forwards.

The woman suffered injuries to her neck as a result.
The man had a small dog with him and police say there were several people present in the area at the time of the alleged incident.
