Can you capture Jersey on a postcard?

Sunday 25 October 2015

If you’ve got a shot you think captures Jersey at its best you could see it promoting the Island all around the world next year.

Amateur and professional photographers are being invited to send in their snaps for the 2016 Picture Jersey competition and the best six will be printed out and given free to guests booked to stay at the Island’s luxury hotels.

The Chairman of Luxury Jersey Hotels and owner of The Atlantic Hotel, Patrick Burke, said: “This is the fourth year that we have run the Picture Jersey competition and I anticipate the quality of the submissions being just as high. I don’t expect it to be easy to whittle down the hundreds of fantastic entries to the final few, but I am looking forward to seeing them all.

“The postcards are fabulous ambassadors for the island and they have always been very well received by the many guests who come to our hotels and want to tell their friends and family about how lovely Jersey is.

“We want images that capture Jersey’s vibrancy and life for the viewer, and I hope that all photographers get involved in this exciting initiative.”

The judges will select five of the winning photos and JEP readers will get to vote for the sixth.

The six winning photographers will get dinner and an overnight stay for two at one of the Island’s luxury hotels and there’s lunch for two at Michelin-starred Bohemia up for grabs if you vote for the JEP Readers’ Choice.

The competition is run by Luxury Jersey Hotels which is owned and managed by The Atlantic Hotel, Grand Jersey, The Club Hotel & Spa, L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa, Hotel de France and The Royal Yacht.

Photographers have until Saturday 7 November to upload their best pics here.
