Got some designer gear you could donate?

The Jersey branch of Cancer Research is appealing for donations of high quality clothing and accessories for a specialist sale next month.

While the sale of pre-loved clothes, accessories, homeware, books and toys is the mainstay of the store, organisers at Cancer Research are preparing for a one-off sale of named brands and designer wear this March.

The charity hopes that the one-off sale of high quality clothes will help to raise some extra funds for the essential work of the charity in supporting research into cancer and cancer treatment.

Last year, Cancer Research UK spent £6m on research on the Southhampton Cancer Research Centre, the closest research centre to Jersey.

Carrina O'Connor, the Manager of Cancer Research Jersey, said: “People frequently donate clothes of a higher quality than we usually sell, and we believe this give us an opportunity to do some extra fundraising.

"We have been putting the prime items aside for some months now in readiness for a specialist sale, but we still need a few more. We are especially seeking top quality dresses, shoes and handbags for the event at the end of March.”

To donate designer or branded clothes and accessories, you can drop the items off at the Cancer Research shop opposite Pizza Express in Halkett Place during working hours.
