A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months behind bars after a home raid uncovered cannabis and cash worth nearly £16,000.
Christopher Cornick appeared in the Royal Court this morning, facing four drugs charges: one of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug, two of possession with intent to supply and one of controlling criminal property.
He was initially arrested in July 2021 after a warrant was executed at his address in St. Helier.
The cannabis seized was estimated to be worth approximately £12,225 in value, and the cash recovered totalled £3,630. Other drug-related items were also found.
His phone was then searched by officers, revealing messages showing that he had been involved in supplying cannabis to people since 2019, and that he had links to other drug suppliers.
Detective Sergeant Jim McGranahan who heads up the Drug Squad, said: “2022 has so far kept the Drug Squad very busy and we continue to work with our partner agencies to keep illegal drugs off our Island’s streets and bring those offenders before the courts.”
