A 33-year-old man has been taken to hospital after crashing outside police headquarters.

A grey Skoda driven by a 33-year-old man collided with a bollard outside the station just after 15:00.

Both police officers and paramedics attended.

A spokesperson for the Force initially said it was not believed that there were any injuries, but later confirmed: "The driver did suffer some injuries but the extent of which are not known at this stage.

"He has been transported to hospital."

The road remains open, and enquiries continue.
