Kevin Nicholls appeared before the Magistrate's Court today charged with 13 counts of larceny, with the amount allegedly stolen totalling £223,000.
The 55-year-old, who lives at Aigremont Farm, La Rue De La Hambye, St Saviour, was bailed until his next court appearance on November 17th.
Mr Nicholls, who was born in Essex, but has lived in Jersey for over 30 years, was charged with criminally and fraudulently obtaining money, namely £5,000, from Leslie Anderson, between November 2014 and December 2015.
He was also charged with 11 offences of criminally stealing money from the Jersey United Services Club, totalling £108,000. These offences were alleged to have occurred between January 2014 and September this year.
Mr Nicholls, who wore a blue shirt in the dock, was also charged with one count of criminally stealing £110,000 from the Royal British Legion between November 2014 and September this year.
Relief Magistrate Sarah Fitz granted Mr Nicholls bail on the following conditions: he lives at his home address in Jersey, must not leave or attempt to leave the Island, he surrenders his identification and passport, he reports to police three times a week and he has no contact with Leslie Anderson or any employee or official of the Royal British Legion or Jersey United Service Club, no entry onto premises of Royal British Legion and Jersey United Services Club.
