Football veterans will descend on Springfield stadium today to take part in Jersey Football Aid.
All proceeds will go to the Jersey Friends of Oncology charity and kick off is at 3pm. Jersey football manager Martin Cassidy has urged supporters to attend the match, which he hopes will become an annual event.
He said: “I don’t think there is anyone out there who has not been affected by cancer in some way and so I can’t think of a better charity to support.
“I asked a whole load of players to come along and support it and almost everyone said they would. The turn-out will be great from the players, so now we need as much support as we can get.
“It should be a terrific day and I hope we can make it an annual event because it is such a worthy cause.”
Entry is free for the charity football match.
