A 31-year-old mum landed herself in court this week after being caught using her phone at the wheel – to play music to her crying baby.
Zara Kramer told the Magistrate's Court that she had not been talking on the device, but using it to play soothing tunes.
The court heard that she had been seen using the phone while driving her silver Range Rover along Victoria Avenue on the morning of 10 May.
Advocate Nicholas Mière, defending, said his client had carried out her actions in a "fleeting moment". He said Kramer had only had to press "play" and not scroll through a list of music.
The court heard it was the second time Kramer had been caught using her phone while driving, but Advocate Mière said: "Mrs Kramer has well and truly learned her lesson."
Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu fined her £250 and endorsed her licence.
He said he was stopping short of imposing a driving ban but warned her: "If you come back to court for a similar charge you are likely to lose your licence."
