Peter Gough's Jersey cricketers registered heir first win in the World Cricket League Division Four Finals by beating Italy by three wickets in Los Angeles.
The Jersey side had endured two below-par performances, going down in identical fashion - by six wickets - in their opening clash against Oman on Saturday and Denmark the following day.
But they bounced back in style in the early hours of the morning by winning by three wickets.
The Italians scored 235 all out in 49.5 overs with Palmer taking 3-57. It was a tough assignment for Peter Gough's team but they managed it, just.
Watkins top scored with 77 and Jenner chipped in with a half century of his own, but it was Bisson's 42 not out that took Jersey over the finishing line with three balls to spare.
It was a crucial victory for Gough's side, who were staring down the barrel of relegation to Division Five if they had lost again. The Jersey boys face Bermuda today, a match which Bisson says is vital for their progress.
"It was such a crucial win, to get the first one under our belts and hopefully that gives us a real boost in confidence for the Bermuda match."
