Tuesday 20 February 2024

Customs has confirmed an investigation is "ongoing" after Jersey Customs officers seized products from a CBD shop in town.

Officers spoke to staff in the Bailiwick Botanicals cannabis wellness store on Queen Street earlier this afternoon and took products away.

A statement released by the Government this afternoon said: "Jersey Customs & Immigration officers attended a St Helier address this morning as a result of an investigation.

"This is an ongoing investigation and no further comment can be made at this time."

In a statement, Bailiwick Botanicals said: "As a company, we at Bailiwick Botanicals, have always worked with local authorities to ensure that all of our products are safe for consumers and abide by all local laws.

"Bailiwick Botanicals requests the appropriate certificates of analysis for each product from our suppliers and Customs are currently undertaking additional testing on a range of our products.

"We expect to have them back on sale shortly and apologise to our customers for the inconvenience."
