Cutbacks prompt earlier police enquiries closure

Monday 26 December 2016

The enquiries desk at Jersey Police headquarters will be opening an our hour later than it does at the moment, and closing two hours earlier, in future as part of the force’s economy drive.

At the moment it’s open from 07:00 until 22:00. From Monday 26th December it’ll only be manned from 08:00 until 20:00. But the Police stress although the office won’t be open it’ll still be possible to talk to an officer 24 hours a day by a phone by the entrance to the building.

The civilian officers who work on the enquiry desk will also work from the Control Room outside opening hours answering calls and online enquires.

Police say the new opening hours reflect the busiest hours of the day.
