A 66-year-old man had to attend A&E after he was hit by a car in St. Mary this morning.

The collision with the black Ford Fiesta happened as the man was cycling past St. Mary’s School along La Verte Rue. His wrist was injured in the crash, and he was then taken to hospital.

The incident happened around 07:10 at the junction of La Verte Rue and La Rue du Motier in St. Mary. 

The Ford Fiesta was being driven by a 43-year-old woman.

Police officers said the collision happened at "low speed". Both the bicycle and the car sustained only minor damage. 

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen this collision to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
