Parishioners in St Clement and St Ouen will get to quiz those who want to represent them in government tonight as the first of the husting meetings for Deputies and Constables gets underway.

Deputy Gerard Baudains, Simon Bree, Darius Pearce and Deputy Susie Pinel are battling it out for two Deputy’s seats in St Clement and Chris Lamy and Richard Renouf are up against each other for Deputy of St Ouen.

The only husting for Constable is in St Mary on Tuesday 7 October when Juliette Gallichan and Deputy John Le Bailly take to the stage. 

The hustings meetings are being held at:

St Clement’s Parish Hall and St Ouen’s Parish Hall tonight at 7.30 pm

Tomorrow night:

Trinity Parish Hall at 7.30 pm;

St Peter’s Parish Hall at 7.30 pm;

Omnorroo Hotel (St Helier No 1);

The Town Hall (St Helier No. 2);

Rouge Bouillon (St Helier Nos. 3 & 4) at 7.30 pm;

Thursday 2 October:

St Mary’s Parish Hall at 7.30 pm;

Tuesday 7 October:

St Mary’s Parish Hall at 8 pm (Constable);

St Brelade’s Parish Hall (St Brelade No. 1) at 7.30 pm;

Communicare (St Brelade No. 2) at 7.30 pm;

Wednesday 8 October:

Town Hall (St Helier No. 1) at 7 pm;

First Tower School (St Helier Nos. 3 & 4) at 7.30 pm;

Thursday 9 October:

La Pouquelaye Community Centre (St Helier Nos. 3 & 4) at 8 pm;

Plat Douet School (St Saviour No. 1) at 7.30 pm

St Saviour’s Parish Hall (St Saviour No. 2) at 7.30 pm.

 

A special pre-poll station will be open for voters in any district between Wednesday 1 October and Monday 13th October at St Paul’s Centre in town. The station will be open every weekday from 8 am to 6 pm.

A one-off pre-polling station will also be at Communicare in St Brelade on Saturday 4 October from 9 am to 2 pm, with another one-off pre-polling station will be open at Trinity Youth Centre on Saturday 11 October from 9 am to 2 pm.

This year for the first time all the hustings meetings will be filmed by an independent production company on behalf of vote.je. They’ll be uploaded on the website the day after the meeting.
