A Deputy is putting his States work to one side and getting ready for another big challenge - flowering his parish's floats ready for Battle.
St Lawrence Deputy Eddie Noel is part of a big team working to create 'Hooray for Hollywood' but he says they're not after any oscars.
Deputy Noel said: “We don’t try to get the top spot – we let everyone have a go at things like hairstailing, it’s all about the build up and the community spirit and making new friends.”
“It’s the community spirit, we have in excess of 100, 150 people who get involved and it covers all ages, the youngest we had last year was just six months old and we had someone in their 90’s.
"We’ve got two floats – Hooray for Hollywood with King Kong on it and the Wizard of Oz and the Junior float is Bugsy Malone with our young juniors dressed as mobs and gangsters.
“We’re pretty much on track, we’ve got a good crowd in St Lawrence, 100 people turning up and we’re hoping for a reasonably early finish."
The Parade starts at 2.30pm tomorrow afternoon when all the floats will be wowing the crowds and competing for the big prize - the Prix D'Honneur.
