Dog-gone lucky Bella!

Monday 12 September 2016

Bella, the bubble-haired Bichon Frise, had a lucky escape today as she was rescued by firefighters after getting trapped between two walls.

She came unstuck after chasing her favourite ball and will probably PAWS for thought next time it happens.

Firefighters came to her aid after the six-year-old pooch got stuck five feet below ground in a very narrow cavity between two outside walls in a St Clement playing field.

The emergency call came out at 10:30 after Bella’s owner couldn’t reach her pet.

The daft dog had been trying to retrieve a ball, which had rolled into the cavity of a property bordering the playing field.

The cavity was only seven inches wide and Bella was well and truly wedged in.

After several unsuccessful attempts to free her, following a lot of coaxing, Bella managed to raise herself up just enough to be grabbed by a couple of outstretched arms.

Bella was thankfully uninjured and was clearly delighted to be above ground again.
