A driver had a lucky escape from her burning van this weekend, in a blaze which nearly spread to a nearby oil tank.
It happened just before 15:30 yesterday on La Grande Route de St Martin.
Fire fighters arrived to find the van "fully engulfed" in flames, but they were able to prevent it spreading to a domestic oil tank. Police officers kept bystanders at a safe distance while the blaze was brought under control.
The Fire Service says that although the van was being driven when it caught fire, the driver was able to pull over and get out safely before it took hold. She was unhurt.
