Two injured in waterfront crash

Thursday 13 July 2017

Two vehicles collided this morning on the Waterfront overpass just after 09:00. The extent of the injuries suffered by the two female drivers is still unknown.

The collision happened on the west-bound side of the overpass, near Fitness First. It involved a blue Suzuki driven by a 74-year-old woman and a red Ford Fiesta driven by a 45-year-old woman.

Ambulance services were quickly called to the scene and were joined by the firefighters and the Police.

The incident was originally believed to have involved three vehicles.

After the traffic was reduced to one lane for an hour, the area was cleared by the emergency services. Drivers are being asked to be careful while driving in the area, because of debris on the road.

The RTC near to Fitness First on the overpass is now clear. Please be aware of grit in the left lane heading West. Thanks for your patience.
