Five members of an “Organised Crime Group” are in custody after police swooped on a gang of drug dealers in a raid last night.
Police revealed an outline of what they are calling “Operation Plum” this morning, and say that they have seized heroin worth around £20,000.
They also say that a man and four women – all aged between 22 and 39 – have all been arrested.
They described the five as “members of an Organised Crime Group” – but have given no hints of who they are, where they come from, or where they were arrested.
The full statement from Acting Detective Chief Inspector Mark Hafey said: “Following an intelligence led operation, States of Jersey Police Priority Crime Team have arrested five members of an Organised Crime Group (OCG) overnight for being involved in the supply and distribution of class A Drugs.
“A quantity of drugs (believed to be Heroin with a street value of £20,000) and cash has been seized. One male and four females aged between 22 and 39 years remain in custody whilst investigations continue.”
