After eight years of raising funds for wildlife conservation, organisers have announced that the Durrell Challenge will not continue this year.
The gruelling 13k road run from St Helier to Jersey Zoo takes place every May and regularly attracts hundreds of runners.
In a statement posted on the event's social media account, organisers said: "As of 2024, we will no longer be holding The Durrell Challenge.
"We are extremely grateful to everyone who has taken part, fundraised, and donated towards our mission of saving species from extinction.
"Our very first Durrell Challenge was in 2015, and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved with your support through these fantastic events!"

The organisers also encouraged islanders to sign up for the Durrell Dash, a festive run which takes place in the lanes around the Zoo on 1 December.
