A man in his 70s has been left badly shaken after confronting two burglars in his home in the early hours of this morning.

The police were called at 2 am this morning when the man found two burglars in his home.

Police say that prescribed drugs appear to be among the property that has been stolen.

Officers made initial inquiries and quickly arrested a 32-year-old man, who is in police custody.

They are continuing to investigate, and are making house to house inquiries on the Les Cinq Chenes estate in St Saviour where the incident took place.

The 71-year-old man who confronted the burglars is being supported by his family.

The police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
