The parents of Adrian Lynch, who went missing four weeks ago, say that Christmas without their son was heartbreaking for them and his little sisters.
The 20-year-old disappeared after a work night out on 5 December – he was last seen after being dropped off in a taxi near Carrefour Selous.
The police say that after no trace for weeks, it’s likely that the young electrician has died. They are working on the basis that he was inebriated, and became disoriented after suffering from hypothermia.
A huge search effort including specialist officers, divers, drones, sniffer dogs and the Channel Islands Air Search plane have failed to find any trace of Adrian.
And his parents, Danny and Sharon, have urged anyone who knows anything at all, however minor, to get in touch with the police. They say that if anyone is worried about getting into trouble, they should call the anonymous Crimestoppers number on 0800 555111.
In a statement released this morning, the Lynch family said: “Every day is agonising and we wake up and realise we have to live this again, day after day, until Adrian is found. It just eats away at you.
“Christmas Day without Ady was particularly difficult, his little sisters miss their big brother and wonder where he is. We didn’t feel like celebrating Christmas this year, but you have to create some form of normality for the children’s sake, it’s just so hard and we are devastated.
“We urge anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant they might think it is, to get in touch with the police. Even if you think it’s nothing, it may help with the investigation, there’s an anonymous phone line, if you’re worried about getting involved, just please pass on any information that might help us find Adrian.
“We are still overwhelmed by the efforts of everyone involved in the search for Adrian, to the officers and volunteers of the Emergency Services, our friends and family, the people at Jersey Post and all of the members of the public who gave up their time to help, we are truly grateful and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.”
