Sarah Ferguson is within sight of victory in tonight's Senatorial by-election. With just one parish left to declare, she is in first place, followed by Sam Mezec in second.
So far, she had won 9 of the 11 parishes to declare, with just Trinity and St Saviour opting for a different victor - Hugh Raymond won in Trinity and Sam Mezec in St Saviour.
74-year-old Sarah Ferguson has just polled 604 votes in St Brelade, with Sam Mezec in second place with 488. There is now just St Helier to declare.
Sarah Ferguson lost her seat in the 2014 general election, just missing out to eighth place Senator Philip Ozouf, on a recount. Tonight looks like being her return to the political arena.
