A 55-year-old man accused of attempting to smuggle cocaine with an estimated street value of £15,400 into Jersey via ferry is due to appear before the Royal Court.
London-born Andrew Kyriakou appeared in the Magistrate's Court on Friday morning, where he was charged with importing 70g of the Class A drug on a Condor ferry from Poole on Wednesday 12 July.
The case was deemed too serious to be heard by the lower court.
Mr Kyriakou will next appear in the Royal Court on 16 October.
He was remanded in custody in the meantime.
