Almost 40% of students graduating from University College Jersey at Highlands College have been awarded a first class degree.
That’s much higher than the national average. There the average is around 24%.
In all UCJ – through its links with the University of Plymouth and London South Bank University – awarded 79 degrees in 11 different subjects this year.
Ben Bennett, Head of Higher Education commented that, “these results demonstrate the hard work undertaken by teaching staff and support staff to help our degree level students achieve. We are proud to be working with many learners who will be the first in their family to gain a university degree. Studying at UCJ is a unique and individualised experience, suited to students who prefer smaller and more open lectures.”
The formal degree awarding ceremony will take place on the afternoon of 11 October 2017 at Wesley Grove Methodist Centre followed by a procession through the streets of St Helier.
UCJ says “September 2017 sees the launch of a new degree in Psychology and Criminology, developed in response to demand from local students, whilst work is on-going to create new programmes over the coming years.”
