Firefighters had to evacuate a block of flats in St Helier yesterday after a fire started in one of the kitchens.
They arrived just after 14:30 to find smoke coming from a ground floor flat, which was empty at the time.
Two fighters got into the flat and put out the fire, and then clear the smoke from the rest of the block.
The fire service says it's not yet clear exactly what started the fire, but they don't believe it is suspicious.
They are reminding Islanders about the importance of isolating electrical appliances when not in use, and closing doors to stop smoke spreading.
