Former Premier League manager and England International Brian Little has been appointed head of Jersey’s senior and U21 sides.
Mr Little, who has been the Jersey Football Association’s Director of Football since November 2014, has been given the appointment with immediate effect.
He is expected to take his first training session with the squad next week.
Mr Little said that he was excited about the challenge.
He said: “I am looking forward to extending my role with the JFA and to getting more directly involved in football matters.
“I would also like to thank my sponsors, Smith & Williamson, who continue to support my work with the JFA in such a generous manner.”
As a player, Mr Little spent his entire career at Aston Villa as a striker between 1970 and 1980, scoring 60 goals in 247 appearances. He made one appearance for England in 1975, but his career was cut short by a knee injury at the age of just 26.
As a manager he had spells at Wolves, Boro, West Brom and Stoke, but is best remembered for his four years in charge of Aston Villa between 1994 and 1998.
With a squad including Gary Charles, Savo Milosevic and Dwight Yorke he led the team to a League Cup triumph, a fourth-placed finish in the Premiership and an appearance in the UEFA Cup.
