More than £7,000 has been raised by colleagues, friends and relatives of a Jersey mum recovering from cancer.
The Miles for Mel initiative took place this summer to raise funds for Mel Tidy, who works in business development for All Island Media, parent company of Bailiwick Express and the Jersey Evening Post.
Mel (38) was diagnosed with colon cancer in August 2022 and has subsequently been undergoing treatment, with colleagues setting up the fundraiser to help with the extra costs incurred over the past 15 months.

Participants were asked to log their miles online and seek donations, with an eventual total in excess of 5,000 miles being racked up.
This included evening strolls around the block at home, lunchtime swims, energetic runs in a range of holiday donations and even a parachute jump.
Victoria Pearce, Head of Production at All Island Media and organiser of the 'Miles for Mel' challenge, thanked everyone who had been involved.

"We also had someone mad enough to jump out of a plane for Mel! (with a parachute!)."

Victoria added: "We are OVER THE MOON to have Mel back in the office. It's so good to see her face every day!
"To echo Mel's words: Cheers to new beginnings and a brighter future.
"We love you Mel. You are a legend."
