An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a six week old baby girl, to allow her funeral to go ahead.
Hope Saoirse McCloskey was born on 8th July, and died on the 19th August in the General Hospital.
At her inquest this morning, the Coroner, Advocate Mark Harris said that her death was unexplained, but not suspicious. A post-mortem examination has been carried out by Dr Samantha Holden from Southampton Hospital.
PC Glenn Cleave spoke at the inquest to confirm that there was nothing suspicious about the death, and to send his sincere condolences to Hope's family.
