Protesters yesterday rallied in the Royal Square in a bid to place pressure on politicians due to vote on how much to spend on the new hospital.
States Members will today begin debating the hotly contested subject of how the new 'health campus' at Overdale will be funded.
It is the latest chapter in a two-decade-old story that has cost the island more than £50m, without a single brick being laid.
Before States Members debate the Government's proposal to borrow £756m to fund the lion's share of the £804.5m project, they will first debate and vote on a Scrutiny amendment to reduce the project cost to £550m and borrowing to £400m.
This is opposed by the Government, who argue that it will drastically change the project, not provide an appropriate hospital and lead to significant delays.

But Scrutiny has the backing of the Friends of Our New Hospital, a group of islanders who are strongly against the Government's funding plans.
On Tuesday, the group organised a protest - their second in three days - in the Royal Square to voice their opposition.
The debate opened this morning, and you can follow Express for the latest updates.
