A husband-and-wife duo who recently organised a local science festival are now bringing an interactive gaming show to Jersey which hopes to inspire the next generation of tech enthusiasts – and there's an opportunity for Bailiwick Express readers to win tickets.
'WiFi Wars' is a live comedy game show where the audience can log in via their smartphones or tablets to compete in a range of games, puzzles and quizzes to win prizes.
Taking place on Sunday 15 October, the experience has been brought to Jersey by Carl and Michelle McConnell who have been bringing engaging and educational events to the island since 2020.
They began their work as they felt that many opportunities offered to children in the UK to learn in a fun and entertaining way are simply not available to local children.
Carl explained: "As parents, we often take our kids over to the UK to places like the Science Museum or the Natural History Museum to give them a fun, educational experience.
"We want to try and bring that kind of thing over to Jersey."

The pair were responsible for bringing the 'Jurassic Live' show to the Royal Jersey Showground in 2022, which included lifelike animatronic dinosaurs and was attended by more than 2,000 people.
More recently, the McConnells hosted the Glimmer Fusion Festival, which featured three award-winning acts from the UK including Brianiac Live – the live version of the hit TV show originally hosted by Richard Hammond.
The upcoming WiFi Wars event – which is set to take place on Sunday 15 October at the Radisson Blu Hotel – will be hosted by comedian Steve McNeil and Guinness World-Record-Breaking tech whizz, Rob Sedgebeer.

Carl said: "Following the success of our festival back in February we are bringing over another act for a more intimate show at the Raddison.
"As all of our events aim to cover STEAM [science, technology, engineering, and mathematics], this time we are focussing on the ‘Tech’."
"This is going to be a fun show for both children and adults alike; we have three show times throughout the day."
"We always try to put on our events when the weather is usually a bit dreary to give families here something to do and look forward to!" he added.
WiFi Wars will be taking place at the Radisson on Sunday 15 October, with shows at 11:00, 14:00 and 18:00.
WiFi Wars tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite, but there's also a chance to win a pair for a showing of your choice... Here's how:
