A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with facial injuries after being hit with glass in a nightclub.

Police said the injury came amid a fight between several men around 02:00 in the early hours of Sunday.

During the fight, a man in his "late 20s" was reported to have been hit on the head by a glass or bottle by another man believed to be around the age of 30.

He was described as being "white... of large build, tall with dark hair and a beard." Police added that he was wearing a light-coloured shirt at the time.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for a facial injury. He left the following morning.

CCTV footage was later released of the man Police believed to have committed the offence, which they described as a "grave and criminal assault." Following an appeal for information, the man was later identified and has since been spoken to.
