Guernsey music producer tours Americas and Australia

Friday 02 February 2024

A Guernsey music producer has been named as one of the headline acts for an Australian touring festival which kicks off almost immediately after his Americas tour closes.

Guernsey's Alex Crossan - aka Mura Masa - hits the road in South America in a fortnight with back to back performances at a festival in Peru and Columbia, before performing across America and Canada over the following three weeks.

That tour closes in Arizona on 9 March with the producer then flying to Australia for the Groovin the Moo event.

He'll be performing DJ sets on six dates in April and May at locations including the Adelaide Showground, the Exhibition Park in Canberra, and the Sunshine Coast Stadium Precinct.

He is one of the biggest names on the line up alongside Mel C of the Spice Girls; who is also going to do a DJ set, and GZA of the Wu Tang Clan who'll be performing with The Funky Nomads.

Only 27 years old now, Crossan - who went to Castel Primary and the Grammar School before leaving the island to launch his career after his music mixes went viral - is continuing to see huge successes in his field.

His third studio album, ‘Demon Time’, was released in September 2022, while his most recent single release was the double sided 'Rise'/'Gimme' which dropped in October last year.

He was nominated for two Grammys in 2017 for his debut album, and he won his first Grammy in 2019 for his remix of Haim's 'Walking Away'. More recently he has worked with Stormzy, Octavian, and ASAP Rocky.

Forbes put him on the list of the 'Top 30 Under 30' in Europe in Entertainment, when he reached more than a billion streams in the last decade.
