The runway at Guernsey Airport was closed for around 40 minutes this morning after a plane reported a hydraulic failure on approach.
The Dornier 228 aircraft landed safely on the runway at around 08:10, but was unable to taxi off.
There were no injuries reported, and the 17 passengers on board were transferred to the terminal by bus.
The runway has since been cleared and re-opened, and airport operations have resumed as normal.
In a statement, Guernsey Ports said: “The runway at Guernsey Airport was closed for around 40 minutes this morning after a Dornier 228 aircraft reported a hydraulic failure on approach shortly after 08:10.
“The aircraft landed safely on the runway but was unable to taxi off.
"There were no injuries reported, and the 17 passengers on board were transferred to the terminal by bus.
“The Guernsey Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service attended the aircraft, which was subsequently towed off the runway at 08:41.
"The runway reopened at 08:50 and normal operations have now resumed.”
Some flights out of Jersey were delayed this morning due to the incident.
The 40-minute closure caused the late arrival – and departure – of a Blue Islands flight to Bristol, after the plane was unable to take off from Guernsey.
