Guernsey’s Chief Minister has said the island stands ready to “help in any practical way we can” after a major explosion led to the collapse of a block of flats in Jersey.
At least one person has died and an up to 12 more are missing after the incident at Pier Road, St. Helier.
Deputy Peter Ferbrache, President of the island's leading Policy and Resources Committee, said: "On behalf of islanders I want to say how deeply sorry we are for all those affected by the devastating explosion in Jersey this morning.
"We have contacted colleagues in Jersey to offer our support.
"We are here to help in any practical way we can.
"Our thoughts are also with all the emergency services responding to this tragic incident."
Guernsey's External Relations Lead Jonathan Le Tocq also said he was "shocked to hear the news" and that the "Guernsey community stand ready to assist where we can."

Christian faith leaders in Guernsey have also shared their thoughts and prayers with the people of Jersey.
On their behalf, Dean Tim Barker said: "We share the great concern already expressed by many for the people of Jersey, as they begin to come to terms with this tragedy, just days after the loss of three fishermen in an accident off the west coast of Jersey.
"We encourage the churches and Christian fellowships of Guernsey to pray:
He suggested the following prayer: "Almighty God, we pray for the people of Jersey and for those who are most closely affected by the tragedies of recent days.
As we approach Christmas and remember that you came amongst us in your Son Jesus, we pray that those who are hurting will be able to find your strength in their suffering and pain. We make this prayer in Jesus' name. Amen."
Locally, more than 1,000 people have joined a Facebook group to support those living in the area who have been affected by the explosion.
Charity Jersey Cares said it had gifts to donate to families, while My Voice Jersey has offered urgent mental health support to anyone who needs it.
