The family of an “inspirational” young islander, who dedicated the final years of his life to helping others as he battled his own aggressive cancer, has organised a special fundraiser to commemorate the anniversary of his passing.
Personal trainer Harry Zambon (25) passed away one year ago this week.
Determined to take something positive from the experience of suffering two sudden brain haemorrhages and a stroke in his early 20s, he went to help scores of islanders through stroke and cancer recovery while raising thousands for charity.
In celebration of that charitable spirit, his family decided to auction off a signed Celtic shirt Harry owned to raise money for the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.
“We decided to do it for the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity to help raise awareness of what they do for families and the support they offer,” Harry’s mum, Sharon Shepherd, told Express.

The football top carries special meaning – not only is it signed by current captain Scott Brown, but was given to Harry on 5 November 2008 when Celtic and Manchester United drew 1-1 in the Champions League (though Scott didn’t wear the shirt that night).
But that won’t be the only signed shirt up for grabs.
As Harry’s family started to arrange the sale of the Celtic shirt, Lee Curtis kindly donated an England rugby shirt signed by Kyran Brackan “out of the blue”.
While the football top will support the JBTC, the funds from the framed shirt’s sale will go towards a garden being set up at JCG in Harry’s memory.

A crowdfunding campaign has already raised more than £11,000 for the green area, where it’s hoped stretched students will be able to find a moment of relaxation in line with Harry’s philosophy of finding balance. Sharon described any extra funds raised by the shirt auction as “a plus”.
She added that the garden's design plans were now being finalised and should be ready to be revealed after half-term.
Simon Drieu Auctioneers at Glencoe have offered to auction both the Celtic and England Rugby Shirt on behalf of the charity and memorial garden for Harry at no cost.
The items will be available to view at Glencoe on Tuesday 25 February from 8:30 until 19:00.
