A local sports club wants to hear from some of its old football and netball players to help them celebrate their 50th anniversary.
St Clements Sports Club is holding an open day at the end of this month and wants past members and players to dust off their boots.
The club was formed in 1966 by a group of youngsters who wanted to play football for their parish, and 50 years later, the club has gone from strength to strength, providing sporting opportunities to both junior and senior netball and football teams.
This year, the Club President of 16 years and founder member, Alan Morel, stood down and was replaced with club stalwart and former St. Clement and Muratti player Jerry O’Shea.
Mr Morel said: "Having helped form the club as a lad in 1966, it's a great pleasure to be involved in celebrating its 50th anniversary. Over the years, many players and members have made the club what it is today, and their involvement is what we wish to celebrate.
"We are meeting at the Clubhouse on Sunday 31 July so that we can share our experiences, reconnect with those we have known, and share memories. The club's success now, and into the future, is down to the people who have committed and played and we'd love them to share in our celebrations."
The club is planning a celebratory footie match which kicks off at 1 pm on 31 July and they say all former players are welcome to put their boots back on!
In the meantime they are on the hunt for more old photographs like these that they can digitise.
The Club's history in photographs and memorabilia will be on display at the open day and the organisers hope old teammates will come along and catch up and reminisce with each other.
