'Homes under the Hammer' presenter to host NSPCC ball

Sunday 24 June 2018

Homes under the Hammer frontman Martin Roberts will be the celebrity auctioneer at the annual Emerald Isle Ball in aid of NSPCC taking place at Trinity Manor on 30 June.

Roberts, who has presented BBC’s Homes under the Hammer for 15 years and appeared on 'I’m a Celebrity…Get me Out of Here!', will be offering the lucky winner the opportunity to join him for a property auction experience and a lunch, all whilst picking valuable tips about the industry.

All money raised during the evening will stay on the island and support the NSPCC’s work in Jersey.

The ‘Letting the Future In’ programme was set up by the charity following the Jersey Care Inquiry report from last year and aims to help young people who have been the victims of sexual abuse. The PANTS campaign run by both the NSPCC and the States aims to educate children about what sexual abuse is and how to report it.

Roberts said: “The NSPCC is a charity that is very close to my heart. I have seen the work they do and I am committed to supporting them in any way I can.”

Jacky Moon, NSPCC Jersey’s Service Centre Manager said: “We can’t wait to host our annual Emerald Isle Ball and hope it will be bigger and better than last year.

“Every penny raised will make a massive difference to the NSPCC in Jersey and allow us to help children who have been the victims of abuse rebuild their lives. We’re looking forward to Martin Roberts hosting the celebrity auction in his own inimitable way.”

Tickets are on sale now. For more information about the event or to buy tickets, contact nspccjerseyball@gmail.com or phone Laura Macdonald on 07797714807.
